The suture are removed after 7-10 days.
The AV fistula needs time to heal and mature before it can be used for dialysis. It's recommended to create AV access 4–6 months before starting dialysis to reduce complications. If the patient requires urgent dialysis then any other vein could be used till the AV Fistula is ready to be used for dialysis.
